Crysis begins in 2020 when North Korean forces led by General Ri-Chan Kyong take control of the Lingshan Islands. Dr. Rosenthal and a team of American civil archaeologists make an urgent appeal for help, believing they have discovered something revolutionary that could transform history. Thus, the Raptor Team is sent to the islands with the mission to evacuate them safely and secure any valuable information they possess.
Nomad, Psycho, Aztec, Jester and Team Leader Prophet (all under code names) comprise this team; all wearing Nanosuits that protect them from gunshots and explosions while giving them superhuman strength and abilities. On one of the islands, Nomad attempts a high jump but is interrupted by an unknown flying entity that collides with him and separates them.
Nomad’s Nanosuit and parachute are deactivated during the crash, but fortunately he remains unscathed as he falls into the water and its absorbs the impact of landing. Once on shore, Prophet is able to restore Nomad’s suit remotely, restoring its normal functionality.
